Looking for a soldering guide or tips for troubleshooting RGB LEDs. I’m getting nothing from them, not sure if I am missing a soldered resistor or the IC2 chip is misbehaving or what. Any tips to troubleshoot would be helpful.

The rest of the board is working great, I got it finally assembled today with in-switch LEDs and all.

    Hi

    Sorry for your inconvenience.
There is no special tips for soldering RGB LEDs

    1. Could you tell me your order number?

    2. Did you solder RGB LED controller from me?

    3. Could you show me your PCB?

    Thanks.

LED controller was self-soldered, I suspect I cooked the chip holding the iron to it for too long.  It came with Order #4201. What shots of the PCB do you want to see? I’ll do my best to get detailed photos for you.

But basically the RGB LEDs should “just work” after programming the PCB? I can change brightness and everything of the in-switch LEDs from the BootLoader no problem but nothing I do with the RGB LED settings seems to stick.

I think there would be problems in RGB controller.
Could you show me the pcb around RGB Controller?

And please check the RGB LEDs. If the first one is wrongly installed, the rest of them will not work either.
They are working in sequence. It means one RGB LED is working by getting signal from previous one.

    Thanks.

Hi Hojin.Yi. I did a bit of research on my own into the chip and confirmed my solder points are all correct. I definitely fried the chip out myself. Thanks for your replies. I’ll have to try replacing the chip down the line.
