    Hello,

I did the soldering by myself, but I think I made some mistakes. When I connect the keyboard to Windows, it says “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)”. If I connect it to a USB slot in the back of the computer, Windows says “Power Surge. Unknown USB Device needs more power than the port can supply”. Also, the bottom right of the keyboard gets very hot after I plug it in (especially the diode on the up arrow key). The IC’s do not get hot.

My order number is W6944. Here are pictures of my board. https://imgur.com/a/OVrrL

Is there anything I can do? Or is the board dead?

    Hi

    Sorry for your inconvenience.

The symptom you explained to me is mainly due to electric shorts.

    Please check your soldering.
    – Short
    – Direction(diodes and RGB LEDs have direction)

    Thanks.

    Hi Hojin,

Turns out I soldered the bottom row of RGB LEDs backwards. It is working now. Thanks!
